Caleb Carter (his real name was Ben) was born October 9, 1984, in Southern California and spent his entire life there. Extremely shy as a teenager, he raised and showed dairy goats at the local county fair. He knew he was gay at an early age, but did not lose his virginity until he was 20. Caleb's first role was with mega-hot, mega-hung, mega-handsome Mike Roberts for the Bang-Bang Boys site. It was an auspicious beginning: Both men would go on to become huge porn stars. In 2006, Caleb Carter also appeared on MTV's reality dating show, Parental Control. He also appeared in MTV's documentary series, True Life, in an episode called "I Am Gay." The producers followed him around for a while in the aftermath of his breakup with Hunt. Caleb was drinking heavily, and many of his drunken antics were captured on film (to his regret).

His film career tapered off significantly in 2007. He made only two films, including a superior performance in Jonathan's Load. He also made a film for a straight porn company, Shane's World, in which he has gay sex. His last film was Blake Riley's Movin' In, made for long-time friend Chi Chi LaRue in 2008.

He was college educated, a news junkie, and read constantly (showing up to film shoots with a newsmagazine in hand). He wrote short stories and prose, and several times started work on novels. His favorite novels were Jim Grimsley's Dream Boy and Alex Sanchez's Rainbow Boys.
